SmartCard Quick Setup Guide

Welcome to
SmartCard

Let’s Get Set Up

Step 1

Meet SmartCard

Front of SmartCard: 1 marks the status LED, 2 marks the pairing button. Back of SmartCard: 1 marks the status LED beside the wireless charging bolt.

Get to know your SmartCard.

  1. Status LED — used for battery and pairing status.
  2. Pairing Button — used to pair SmartCard.

Step 2

Charge Up

SmartCard does not come with a fully charged battery. To fill up, place it on any wireless charger — the bolt should be centered and facing up. You’ll feel a slight magnetic pull, and the LED will light up when charging is active.

Step 3

Prepare Your Device

SmartCard works with Apple’s Find My and Google Find Hub. Use the selector below to choose your platform for setup.

NOTE: Tracking only works with one platform at a time.

Platform

Works with Android Find Hub.

Ensure you have the Google Find Hub app installed on your device.

  1. Go to the Play Store and search “Find Hub”.
  2. Install it if it is not already there.

How to Pair to Android

  1. Ensure you have the Find Hub app installed and SmartCard is powered on.
  2. Navigate to your device’s home screen, and position SmartCard next to the device.
  3. A pop-up will appear asking if you’d like to pair SmartCard. Tap Connect, Agree and Continue, and give it a name.

How to Pair to iPhone

The Apple Find My walkthrough is not in this guide yet. Until it lands, the full product manual below covers pairing SmartCard to an iPhone step by step.

Everything before this point — the card tour, charging and the app check — is the same on both platforms.

Tips & More Info

Proper Placement: Slide SmartCard into an outside pocket of your wallet or bag. Metal wallets, RFID sleeves and dense material can interfere with tracking capabilities.

Once connected, SmartCard’s location updates whenever any device on the network passes near your card. Don’t worry if it sits still for a while, that’s completely normal.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does it work with my phone?

Yes. SmartCard pairs with any recent iPhone through Apple’s Find My, and with Android phones through Google Find Hub. You only need one of the two — pick your platform in step 3 above.

How long does the battery last?

Months of normal use on a charge. When it runs low, place SmartCard on any wireless charger with the bolt centered and facing up, and the status LED will confirm it is charging.

Where should I keep it?

In an outside pocket of your wallet or bag. Metal wallets, RFID sleeves and dense material sit between the card and your phone and can interfere with tracking.

Why has the location not updated?

SmartCard updates its location whenever any device on the network passes near it. If it is somewhere quiet, it can sit unchanged for a while — that is normal, not a fault.

It is not showing up when I try to pair. What now?

Press the pairing button once to wake the card: you should hear one beep and see one flash on the status LED. The Troubleshooting card above walks through the rest in order.
